DESCRIPTION:The Planning and Zoning Board serves as the Local Planning Agency for the Town of Dundee pursuant to the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act\, Ch. 163\, Part II\, Florida Statutes\, and perform all functions and duties prescribed in the statute.  As the Local Planning Agency\, the Planning and Zoning Board coordinates the comprehensive planning program and prepares the comprehensive plan\, elements\, or portion thereof for the Town of Dundee and recommends amendments to the Comprehensive Plan to the Town Commission for adoption as needed. \nIn addition to this role\, the Planning and Zoning Board advises and makes recommendations to the Town Commission regarding applications for amendments to the Official Zoning Map\, requests for Special Exceptions or other special designations on property within the Town\, and approval or denial of various development applications. \nThe Planning and Zoning Board is responsible for obtaining and maintaining information on population\, property values\, the land economy\, land use\, and other information necessary to assess the amount\, direction\, and type of development anticipated in the Town.  At the request of the Development Director\, the Planning and Zoning Board interprets and determines the intent of provisions of the Code that are unclear or in conflict with other regulations and considers the need for revision or addition of regulations in the Unified Land Development Code\, including the Land Development Regulations\, and recommend changes to the Town Commission. \nMeetings\nThe Planning and Zoning Board meets on the third Thursday of every month at 6:15 p.m. However\, the Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Board may set or cancel a meeting.  Please check the Community Calendar for the most recent scheduling status of an upcoming meeting.

DESCRIPTION:NOTICE OF SPECIAL WORKSHOP\nTO BE HELD BY THE DUNDEE TOWN COMMISSION AND\nDUNDEE PLANNING & ZONING BOARD \nPlease be advised that the Town of Dundee will be holding a special workshop session for the Dundee Town Commission and the Dundee Planning & Zoning Board. This workshop will be held on Thursday\, July 29\, 2021\, beginning at 5:30 PM in the Dundee Town Hall Commission Chambers located at 202 E. Main Street\, Dundee\, FL 33838. \nThe purpose of this workshop is to gather Commission\, Board\, and Citizen input regarding a potential residential project. \nNotice is hereby given that two or more members of the Dundee Town Commission and/or Dundee Planning & Zoning Board will be assembled to discuss or gather information about an item over which they have decision-making authority\, and which may appear before them for action in the foreseeable future. This may constitute a meeting of the Dundee Town Commission or the Dundee Planning & Zoning Board per Florida Sunshine Law\, even though there will not be any formal action at this assembly. \nAll persons interested are invited to attend\, and any person desiring to appeal any decision of the Dundee Town Commission with respect to any matter considered at this special meeting will need a record of the proceedings. For such purpose\, he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made\, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. \nAny person requiring special accommodations at the special meeting because of a disability or physical impairment should contact the Dundee Town Clerk at (863) 438-8330 or at JGarcia@TownofDundee.com
