FDOT SR 542 (DUNDEE ROAD) TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Saturday, September 18 through Saturday, September 25
BARTOW, Fla. – SR 542 (Dundee Road) from Buckeye Loop Road to east of US 27: Construction project: Crews are working on pipe, wall, water main, drainage, stabilization, embankment, curb, sidewalk, lighting foundations, and conduit.
- Country Club Road will be closed at 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, while crews cross the roadway to install utilities. The closure will remain in place until the work is complete and is expected to last one day.
- DETOUR: Motorists wanting to access Country Club Road should detour at Buckeye Loop Road to Lake Buckeye Drive back to Country Club Road. Use caution, follow posted detour signs, and add extra time in your schedule to reach your destination.
- Lake Hamilton Boulevard at Dundee Road will be closed Wednesday, September 22, while crews perform underground work across Lake Hamilton Boulevard. The closure is expected to last one day, pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
- DETOUR: Motorists wanting to access Lake Hamilton Boulevard from Dundee Road should use Cleveland Avenue to detour.
- Expect eastbound shoulder closures west of US 27 for storm installation. Use caution and watch for workers and equipment close to the road.
This project includes widening Dundee Road from two to four lanes, constructing an enclosed drainage system, installing a new signal at Overlook Drive and closing the Overlook Drive merge, upgrading existing signal equipment, adding sidewalk, bike lanes, and street lighting, and making utility improvements for the City of Winter Haven and Town of Dundee. The contractor is Jr. Davis Construction Company. Expected completion is summer 2023.
